RABUC480-RRC – Ballast Undercutter and Lineside Trenching Machine

Transforming track maintenance and refurbishment efficiencies:

Excavates challenging ground conditions – consolidated Ballast with fines can be very hard to excavate when the track is left in situ, but not for this machine.

• Mobilisation: Machine On tracks in 15 minutes and self digs under the track in 15 minutes.

• Excavation depth of 200mm – 500mm under sleeper .

• Method of ballast disposal – Undercutter loading into Box Trailers or Open railway Wagons via conveyor systems.

• Average meterage p/hr achieved when punctuated by adding track jacks to maintain track geometry, and shuttling of spoil trailers – 30m p/hr.

• Working speed achieved running machine at 66% capacity – 1m per minute (potential for up to 60m p/hr loading direct to a train).

• Also capable of digging drainage trenches at the sleeper ends down to a depth of 1.5m deep.
